Dutty - Great work. My god man, R9 is just fast fast fast.

People who've been testing WM 6.5 for a while will be happy, there's a new feature in this build -- in your start menu hold down an icon. The retarded move to top menu is now replaced with the ability to drag the icons around to arrange your start menu!!! Awesome! You still can't drag programs into folders but this is still a MASSIVE improvement.

The keyboard in this one seems a lot better.

Manila 2.5 looks tacky, I'm glad 2.1 is here.

I seriously recommend using Showcase with this ROM, I've been testing it heavily on R8 and it significantly upgrades the user experience, IMHO.

Strangely, the clock on the task bar and the manila clock aren't always exactly the same. Manila changes about 30 seconds ahead of the task bar clock.

Sync worked better.
Alarm is still broken by reminders to please make sure you go to settings->sound and turn off ALL indicators for "Reminders" after this your alarms will work fine. (Yes, you will lose all indications of reminders though, this is currently unavoidable without using a 3rd party alarm).

Dutty - this is so smooth, so fast, so awesome, thanks!!!

hi dutty, 1 bug so far in manila calendar, july 2 2009 is a saturday, but in manila calendar its showing as a Thursday so the whole calendar is off set, one clue might be cause i am unable to install my calendar backup through microsoft myphone? which is most probably server related as i could see in xda dorums, a number of people has reported a similar problem, super smooth and fast ROM though. BTW how are you now? we hope and pray for your good health.

I found a bug with MSVC and bluetooth, I think its due to the way its packaged.
The bug is this:-
You press the button on your BT headset and you hear the bleep but then the sound transfers back to the phone, you have to actualy speak into it rather than your headset. But oddly once you have made the call it transfers back to the headset.
The Fix is to manually install the MSVC cab.
In order to do this you need to kill the voice process from the task manager otherwise the install will fail with permission denied.

Aside from that, great job Dutty :)
One odd thing, I thought you said this was a no manilla release :P

written by elammertsma , August 11, 2009
@alexing and philipcrawford - Palringo works well for yahoo and is free and looks ok on the high HD resolution. It's just missing smileys and seems to use more processor after a while of using it intensively, which runs down my battery in about a day. The solution is to close and restart Palringo every now and then, particularly when you're done chatting. (Generally, it's under 1% CPU but can go up to 5% after heavy use. Haven't tried newer installations which might be better, mine's a few months old so there might be a better version online)

As for this ROM, I haven't taken the step to 6.5 yet. It sounds buggier than the 6.1 versions so I'm sticking with Dutty's superb 6.1 ROMs for a while longer. I have all confidence in Dutty's cooking abilities and as soon as these seem to be exceedingly popular and stable I'll hop on the bandwagon!

Pigeon looks rad, thanks for the tip CyberCrash. MasterHD - Dutty knows about the new wm 6.5 releases. You'll be he'll put out a release when he has the time and when he feels it makes an improvement. Sometimes when releases come out quickly and introduce bugs, it's better to wait for MS and the OEM's to iron out the new bug before making a release. Right now R9 isn't perfect, but it's really really good. I'm sure Dutty want's to make sure R10 is better if he can, and that takes a LOT of work. If you want to try every new build, there's always Miri's ROMs.

I was a ROM pgrade version, but I'm delighted I did this. I was on Orange 1.19.61.1 before and I have multiple issues, which Dutty has cured for me.

A couple of things I miss, and I'm not sure why they have gone...

Zoom on the camera
Up and down arrows when flicking through texts and photos in TouchFlo 3D.
Where has the apps tab gone in in TouchFlo 3D??

I really would like the zoom back, as it is useful, in that if I want to take a photo to load directly to facebook.

I am probably being a bit dim but I am a little confused !!

On the HD download page for the 6.5R9 there seems to be two downloads, one 116MB the other 118MB with no explanation as to the differences between them. Which do I download?

Second. Further down the page it says "Things to know about this No-Manila/Clean Version" but the thread has comments about it having Manila.

Confused??

Hi Dutty, thanks for the ROM. I found a big problem in this ROM. When I run YouTube and after watching a few movie clips, it'll start acting up. It keeps dropping video when it's playing half way and you can see it's piling the memory up. Until it became so laggy, I have to soft-reset my HD. And the real big problem then occured, it hard-reset my phone instead. Wiping my data away.

It happened 3 times and I've hence stopped using it. It happened even on a fresh factory default state without anything installed. Everyone should backup your data frequently while doing beta testing.

@foxybox
I have a similar issue with an app called SportyPal, I just put it down to the app not being 6.5 compatable. Even after using the htcAddicts CleanRam tool, I still couldn't start the app until I had rebooted the phone.

Once upon a time Dutty had RemoteTracker installed in the ROMs. What is the status of this now? Also, how was this done back in the old days of 6.1 regarding configurations? Using RTRegCreator to make RT.dll would give all users of dutty-roms the same configuration, right?

By adding RT to the rom the application would still be there after a hard reset, and that is a desired feature for such a program.

Yes I went to the HTCpedia site on Saturday and found the latest 6.5 rom there (V11). Installed it and usein it now. Very good rom, haven't come across any problems as yet.

I have also flashed my radio to 1.16 experia rom which has given my Tough HD a stronger satnav voice connection on Orange UK (still not perfect though)

Not sure why the latest 6.5 rom isnt posted on this site, I suspect the HTCpedia site is for very new roms that need prior testing before being let loose here?
